The Federal Government recently unveiled its new IR reforms under the WorkChoices brandname.



As a part of this rollout the broad details were available online at the www.workchoices.gov.au website. Seeing an advertisement on television for this much awaited information I decided to visit the website to see what all the fuss was about.



As luck would have it I managed to catch an error on the site on the page describing What's Changing



The list of things that I saw looked like:



Will move towards one, simpler national system.

Will simplify the workplace agreement-making process.

Will establish the Australian Fair Pay Commission to protect minimum and award classification wages.

Will introduce the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard to protect workers' wages and conditions in the agreement-making process.

Will enshrine a set of minimum conditions in Federal legislation for the first time.

Will provide modern award protection for those not covered by agreements.

Will ensure an ongoing role for the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC).

Will protect against unlawful termination.
