Have you ever wondered if psychic powers were real? Here is a demonstration that might change your mind. Visit this site then read the rest of the article:

trunks.secondfoundation.org/files/psychic.swf

Uncanny how accurate it is isn't it?

Obviously, the computer cannot read your mind and predict the results with such accuracy. Therefore, it must be using some kind of trick.

The instructions are simple.

Choose any two digit number, add together both digits and then subtract the total from your original number.

When you have the final number look it up on the chart and find the relevant symbol. Concentrate on the symbol and when you have it clearly in your mind click on the crystal ball and it will show you the symbol you are thinking of.

For example, if you choose 23: 2+3=5. 23 minus 5 will give you your answer.

The trick is simple too.

No matter which number you start with, the possible results are a small subset of the 100 numbers shown. In fact, there are only nine possible results. The multiples of 9 from 9 to 81.

This is a wonderful example of a good magic trick. Just as the conjurer waves his hands and flourishes his props to distract you from the sleight of hand this website does the same. When you click on the ball, the table of numbers and symbols as well as the instructions dissappears to be replaced by a message to try again.

When the table reappears, the symbols next to the only possible results have changed each time but all the rest are the same. No wonder it was so accurate!
